Motivation

Motivation is strongly tied to flow. Motivation represents your goals, your why’s, why you get up in the morning, why you do what you do. What’s your passion? What is it that you are most fascinated by? What is your primary turn-offs? What do you find least inspiring? What makes you less enthusiastic and passionate?

A passion is something which triggers the release of certain neurotransmitters inside you. Whatever causes you to generate dopamine, endorphins, serotonin, or oxytocin, in a way which makes you feel happy, pleased, stimulated, or loved, is tied to your reward and punishment system. You are programmed to feel that everything is enjoyable in some way or form, but you have core values, things that are particularly important to you. This means in general, you will prioritize these things above other things in life.

Besides motivation, there is attention, which is more cognitive and more about your ability to focus and to control your mind and your attention.
